Go Extreme With X Treme Electric Scooters

When gas prices began to rise steadily, many people looked toward an alternative for gas powered vehicles. During that time, electric scooters and bicycles became more popular. While the electric scooters have been around for some time, it has been over the last few years that they have become even versatile. With an entire rooster of new designs and styles, there is an electric scooter for almost any individual. Electric scooters are defined as two or three wheeled vehicles powered by electric motors. Electric scooters, like X Treme electric scooters, have motors that are powered by batteries that have to be regularly charged. Some automotive companies like Honda and Yamaha are developing fuel cell prototypes that can convert fuel into electrical currents.

Before there were electric scooters there were electric bicycles. Still available today, electric bicycles run similarly to the scooter. They are powered with an electric motor that assist in peddling. On a single charge, the electric bicycle can go as fast as 20mph. Electric bicycles can range in style from those used for daily use to mountain bicycles used on alternate terrain. The xb-300Li is a great example of an electric mountain bike that can 20 to 25 miles on one charge and go as fast as 20mph.

The newer electric scooters can, on a single charge, travel for up to 10 to 15 miles.  At its fastest, an electric scooter can go anywhere from 15 to 25 miles per hour. Average miles per hour and travel distance varies on the brand and type of scooter. Electric scooters are not just for adults. There are several that are specific designed for kids. Scooters like the x500, are considered to be among the fastest scooters specifically designed for kids. These particular scooters can go as fast as 23 miles per hour and roughly 10 miles per charge. Electric scooters designed for kids are built to be durable and easy to transport.

Electric scooters are a great way to not only save money on gas but become environmentally friendly. X Treme Electric Scooters offers a variety of scooters ranging from adult and kid friendly scooters to electric motorcycle mopeds. Electric scooters are available too for nearly any age group and are durable enough for daily travel.

By Jackie Jones

Fifteen years ago, chances are you never heard of electric wheelchairs. Although they have been around for longer than that, they were not readily available until the past 10 to 12 years. That's when companies like The Scooter Store and Hoveround began to market the wheelchairs nationally in the same manor that diabetic supply companies promoted diabetic medical supplies that were Medicare covered. When these companies began their national advertising campaigns for electric wheelchairs, the demand for the equipment nearly tripled in under three years (from 1999 to 2002).
